Design Strategy
Stack Ventilation
Stack ventilation can be used to increase ventilation where the breeze is not sufficient. When air inside a building is warmer than the outside air, the warmer, less dense air will rise. Stack ventilation takes advantage of this effect by placing openings near the floor and near the ceiling to allow the warm air to rise and escape, while maintaining the cooler air down below near the occupants.
